How to Achieve Personal Growth in Minutes a Day

There are many people in the world that will tell you that the only way to achieve personal growth is to spend a lot of time and money on this quest. This may be true and work for some of the people that take this route, but wouldn't it be nice to find an easier way to get to your goal. The good news is that there is. Personal growth is not just some that millionaires can achieve. It is something that anyone who puts their mind to it can get in their life.

Personal growth is a term that many people use and do not have a true definition of. This is not talking about growing your business or even your quest to lose weight. This is about your journey to build your mind and thoughts about yourself to what they really should be. This is where the mind and outlook on life is just away few steps away from where you want to be. It is really that simple. So what are you waiting for?

What Are You Trying to Achieve With Your Personal Growth?

As you go through this process, there are many different aspects in the department of personal growth that you can be working on. Perhaps you are like most and need to work on just about all of it. Do not worry. As long as you work through it and take it step by step, you will be able to get to your goal. There are many areas of your life where this can benefit you. It can make you more confident in yourself. You can rely on others less and know that you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it.

Step One

The best thing that you can do to achieve the personal growth that you want is to invest in a personal journal. This will be a place where you write about your thoughts and feelings on everything in life. Many people carry around what is going on inside them without every getting it to the surface. To be successful in this goal, it is good to invest in a nice quality journal to make sure that you are putting your personal growth as a priority in your life. Some ideas of journals would be a nice leather bound journal that you can pick up at your local bookstore.

Step Two

One of the biggest barriers to personal growth are the negative thoughts and emotions that we let come into our mind every day. This could be anything from fighting with your mother to thinking bad thoughts about the driver that just cut you off. If you are focused negatively on people and actions of others outside your person then how are you supposed to grow as a person. Start trying to stop negative thinking dead in its tracks. This will be hard at first. You will have to physcial stop when your mind starts thinking negatively and turn it into a positve thought. The more that you do this the easier it will be.

Step Three

Realize that you are the most important person in your life. This is often hard to do for most because we have been programed to take care of others. If you do not put yourself first, then no one else will. To be able to see the personal growth that you want, you need to be able to know that your thoughts, feelings, and needs are important and should be taken care of first no matter what. This does not mean that you ignore people that you consider important in your life. You just have to reprioritize your life.

Step Four

Create a couple of positive affirmations that show how you want to see yourself. Good examples of positive affirmations to use are: I am independant and I am successful. These are not statements about goals that you want to achieve in the material sense. These are statements that are more focused on how you see yourself. Repeating of these statements will give them more power and help them to influence your personal growth.

Step Five

Every morning as you are getting ready for your day, look in the mirror, smile and tell yourself that you look great. Starting the day off with these positive statements will be the kick in the butt you need to get your mind and attitude ready to conquer your day. All too often people start their day in a negative mood. Things may not being going right in their mind. This kind of thought can just cause the day to spiral further into something that you do not want. Think of it like quicksand. The more you struggle against the negative morning and day that you have created in your mind, the worse things will get.

Step Six

At the end of every day sit down with your journal and write about what you felt and thought about during your day. You may find yourself writing some boring posts to your journal at first but as you explore what is really going on inside, these posts will be the insight to the road of personal growth that you are traveling. Another great idea for what to write each night is to list 10 things that happened that day that you are greatful for. Enjoying and celebrating the small moments that make up life can be a very uplifting experience.

Whether you are CEO of a corporation or a stay at home mom, every one can use personal growth in their life. No one is perfect and that is ok. We all have fears and demons that we battle every day. To help yourself achieve the statement of mind and outlook on life to get past what is holding your back from the life you want is priceless. That is why people have found ways to market and make millions on this need that people have. Yes, there are courses and personal coaches that can aid you in your journey. If that is what you need then go for it. However, personal growth can also be achieved on your own.
