Don't mail letters much? Email and current technology has almost made writing letters obsolete—but not to worry. For those times when you do need to write a letter—for any reason—this helpful article will show you how to address an envelope in 3 easy steps!

Step 1

The first step is of course to put your address. In the top left corner you're going to divide your address into three lines. A properly addressed envelope will have your name (or title) on the first line. The next line will be your street address, or PO Box. The final line will include your city, state (or state abbreviation), and zip code.

Step 2

You're almost half way there! The next step to address your envelope is to write the recipients information. This information is in exactly the same format, but located in the middle of the envelope. Begin with their name on the first line, the address, and again the city, state, and zip code on the final line.

Step 3

Before you go out to mail your letter, be sure to include the proper postage. Now you're ready to mail your properly addressed envelope. That was easy, wasn't it?
