Dramatic eye makeup can make a statement as soon as you enter a room! If you like to be the center of attention then you might want to make sure your eye makeup is dramatic as possible.

There are a great number of different techniques you can try. The reasons you want a dramatic eye look might vary from someone else's reasons.

It might be that you're going to a party and want to stop everyone dead in their tracks because you're so beautiful. Or, it might be that you're part of a theater production and you really need your eye makeup to stand out to the crowd.

Whatever your reasoning there is sure to be an eye makeup look that will work for you. If you want dramatic eye makeup to stand out from the crowd you might want to consider the smoky eye look.

Smoky eyes are simply beautiful and extremely popular and have been for years. To get smoky eyes you'll need dark eye shadow, darker eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara.

1. The first thing you need to do is to apply your eyeliner. Start on your upper lashes and make this line a bit thicker than normal. Then, line your lower lashes. Once you have done that it is time to smudge! You can do this part using a makeup sponge or the end of your eyeliner if it includes a smudging tool.

2. Then you apply your lighter eye shadow to your eyelid and just under your brow bone. Next, you can apply your darker eye shadow to your eyelid. Blend these together!

3. Everything should now have a smoky effect. If you want dramatic eye makeup look for a drama production you can actually take a similar route. However, you'll want to do everything bigger and bolder.

If you want everyone in the audience to be able to see your eye makeup, make sure it is dark enough to be seen. A tiny line of eyeliner is not going to be seen from the audience.

You might consider doing a dramatic cat eye or exaggerated Asian eye makeup look as well. There is no reason why you can't go a bit over the top when you're in the theater. In fact, that's half the fun!

Dramatic eye makeup definitely serves its purpose. It really depends on the event you're planning the eye makeup for when you're examining techniques. Keep in mind that a dramatic smoky eye is great for a night on the town, but an exaggerated dramatic look is best for theater.
