Check out a related career field. The Society of Healthcare Consumer Advocates is made up of advocates who work for and within hospitals, rather than outside as a private consultant. Cleveland State University offers a certificate program for those interested in this particular career field.Step 3
Get educated. Healthcare Liaison offers the first credentialing program for private healthcare advocates. The one year program covers all aspects of advocacy and is capped off with a rigorous proficiency exam.Step 4
