The power of creativity and innovation is shared by everyone. You may have marveled at somebody else's creativity, but guess what, you can create and innovate, too. You were born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten or the sand at the beach is not limited to those who possess coloring or castle building potential. The truth is everybody has the potential to be innovative and creative.
Innovation takes time. If you want to do or be something different and creative you must give yourself a chance to sit back and think about it. These are a few tips on how to bring the creative artist out of you.
Don't listen to what other people say.
-Follow the beat of your own drum.
-If you have an original and creative idea, don't waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. They won't.
-Listen to your own thoughts about it and see how to apply your innovative idea to life.
-If people always listened to the nay-sayers we would probably still be living in the middle ages.
Day dream - Spend time on your innovative solutions.
-Do not quit your day job!
-Schedule time in your day to be able to think about your idea and let it grow.
Exercise. This training will help you brainstorm ideas.
-Take a walk or run a mile or two.
-Exercising clears and relaxes your mind and allows for creative thoughts to pop up.
Creative ideas while you sleep. Record your dreams.
-Everyone has the craziest dreams that your conscious mind would never have thought of.
-These show you the untapped innovative power you have lying within.
-Jot down as much of the dream as you can remember.
-Those dreams may just create an innovative spark in you.
Personality - Find your own style.
-People appreciate your innovation because it is uniquely yours, no one else would have thought of what you are thinking.
-Let people see how valuable an asset you are.
Don't hide behind expensive or nifty gadgets or tools.
-You don't need the most expensive set of paints to produce a creative masterpiece.
-You don't need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper to write a bestseller.
-Will an expensive camera help if you're a crappy photographer?
-Who cares if you've got a laptop if you can't write or produce creative works on it?
-The innovator/artist actually reduces the number of tools as you get better at your craft: it doe not matter what the innovation is you know what works and what doesn't.
Your creative strategy will not work without passion.
-What wakes you up in the mornings?
-What keeps the flame burning?
-What is the one thing that you'll die if you don't do?
-Sometimes you just want something so bad you become virtually unstoppable. That is passion. Passion will keep you going.
Don't be concerned about inspiration, be prepared.
-You can't force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to. For those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare.
-An innovative idea could strike you on the running, driving, or swimming and you do not have a sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world.
-Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper near you at all times.
These are successful creative thinking tips to bring more creativity and innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you are doing these things for your own personal improvement and not anybody else's. When you practice your innovative ideas and have given it time to grow others will notice.
