Step 1

Shop online, you will be able to get the same quality products for much less than you would in the store. In the store you will spend $60 - $100 for a 6 ft cable. Online you could get a 25 ft cable for $30.

Step 2

When shopping online be careful. If it's too good to be true it probably is. You might see some HDMI cables available for less than five dollars. The only problem is these cables are only 1 or 2 feet in length. This won't help you much if you are trying to connect to a T.V.

Step 3

Do a lot of research. They are coming out with new features for multi-media equipment everyday so make sure that whichever HDMI cable you buy is compatible with your T.V. Much of the time, the HDMI companies will come out with capabilities for the cables that they don't even make for T.V.s yet. If you do your research you will know what is necessary and what is just for show.

Step 4

Make sure that you don't buy an HDMI mini to HDMI cable. You will be in for a rude surprise when you try to hook it up.
