By Edited Nov 13, 2013 1 1

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and you are probably thinking about all of the people that are important in your life and how you want to celebrate this great holiday with them. There is always jewelry and candy for the adults in your life that you want to celebrate Valentine's Day with, but what can you do to make this day special for the toddler in your life. Now odds are that the toddler in your life is one of the people that you love the most. Is that not reason enough to go above and beyond and make this the best holiday for them ever? Of course it is! So here is how to go about doing it.
You will want to plan in advance the presents that you will get your little one for Valentine's Day. There is always the token box of candy and stuffed animal approach. This will be appreciated and make them smile, but as with most basic gifts they will be forgotten within the week. The key to the perfect Valentine's Day gift for your special toddler is to make it something that will be cherished and a special tradition for the two of you.
One way to do this to give them flowers. You do not have to go over board with a lavish bouquet but some flowers on Valentine's Day is a great tradition to make the holiday special. This can also be the time to start your child off with a special collection of sorts. Model car or porcelain figurines are always great for building tradition and a collection that your child will love as the years go by.
Valentine's Day Goodies
You can go the easy route and just buy some basic candy for your toddler to celebrate Valentine's Day. However, if you want to make it more special why don't you bake them something. The fact that you took the time to make it will make it that much sweeter. Special cupcakes or brownies will keep the tummy happy and put a smile on their face. Decorate them with red sprinkles and icing and wrap them in colored plastic wrap to complete this goodie.
What to Do
Depending on what you have planned with the other special people in your life will determine exactly what you can do with your toddler on Valentine's Day. One of the best things is to take them out to a special meal just the two of you. This makes them feel special and like the day is all about them. It doesn't have to be a dinner out. Breakfast or lunch are great alternatives for an outing with your toddler on Valentine's Day.
