How to Choose Between 1080p Televisions
If you have not had the opportunity to see the difference between 1080p televisions and regular televisions than you might want to go to your local electronics store and check out the difference. High definition TVs are very popular right now. The amazing quality can be seen and heard. Once you have experienced high definition, it is very hard to watch something that is not HD quality. However, some HD TVs are better than others are, even though they boast 1080p quality does not mean that the picture is as crisp and clear as other TVs with the same level of quality.
When you see a television being advertised with 1080p, what that means is that specific TV has 1080 lines of vertical resolution. The P stands for progressive scan capabilities. Currently 1080p, not to be confused with 1080i, is the highest resolution you can get in a television. To get the full capabilities of your HDTV you may want to consider making sure your cable or satellite has high definition quality channels otherwise, you are not getting the full potential of your television. In addition, you have paid for quality and it would be a waste of your money if you were getting a quality your current TV can produce.
Another thing you might consider getting is a Blu-Ray player. If you are not aware of the difference between Blu-Ray DVDs and regular DVDs, the Blu-Ray quality will blow you away. If you are a gamer as well, you might look into getting a PlayStation 3. They not only play Blu-Ray's but also you get the added benefit of being able to use it for your games as well. Even though Blu-Ray's cannot be played in a regular DVD player, you can play regular DVDs in a Blu-Ray player. When playing a regular DVD in a Blu-Ray player it does something called up converting, which means it plays that regular DVD at a higher quality.
1080p televisions make TV and movie experiences a lot better. You can get the 1080p plasma televisions for cheaper than the 1080p LED televisions. This is because LED TVs are newly on the market as compared to the plasma TVs that have been on the market for a while. The main difference between LED TVs and plasma televisions is mostly the LED TVs have 240ghz, which makes the picture clear especially in fast moving movies. Plasma televisions only have a 120 GHz making fast moving scenes and little more blurry than they would on the LED TVs.
