How to Choose the Best Coffee Grinder

By | Nov 2, 2011 | 3 Comments | Rating: 0

Did you know that coffee is good for you? Of course you do, that is why you can't get enough of it. Did you know that coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world? You probably didn't know that, but you probably don't care either. Did you know that coffee used to help people lose weight? That is because people actually have to physically grind there coffee beans before they can enjoy a lovely brew (of  course, that isn’t completely true but it did take a lot of work to grind those beans). Thank goodness you don’t have to go through so much exercise today in order to enjoy a cup of coffee. All you need is a coffee grinder and you are ready to go. There are so many coffee grinders out there with varying prices that it can be a challenge to decide which one to buy. So how do you decide which is the best coffee grinder?

You don't need to take a degree course to make such a decision. The amount of coffee you drink on a daily basis will be a factor to consider when choosing a coffee grinder. Some have said that you can grind a lot of coffee and keep it in an air tight jar. Some say that storing coffee in this fashion reduces its taste and aroma. Another thing to consider is how many people in your household are coffee drinkes. With these questions in mind, you can go out and start to look for the best coffee grinder that will suit your needs.

It is good to know that the best coffee grinders for home use are not the most expensive you can buy. Buying brand names is also not essential. What you need to consider is after sales support. Brand names tend to provide better support.

If you are averse to electrical home appliances, manual coffee grinders might appeal to you. The Kyocera 100-g. Coffee Mill CM-50 CF and the Hario MSS-1B Hand Grinder Mini Mill Slim will cost you about $30. These grinders are stylish but will require burning a few calories in other to get your coffee. When you think about the price tag of these manual home appliances and the more automated versions you might think that they are expensive; however, when you think about how much use you will get out of them and how long they will are likely to last, the cost won’t seem so high.

Electric powered coffee grinders like the Cuisinart Supreme Grind DBM-8 - Coffee grinder - brushed stainless steel cost only about $40. If you wish to compare the price of this to the manual ones mentioned above, you will likely gravitate towards the lazier option. And extra $10 or $20 is not such a big deal when you think about the time and energy it will save you.

You can opt for an industrial grade coffee grinder with style that can be used at home if you really want to step it up. The Grindmaster GNB-20H Airpot Coffee Brewer w/ Grinder will cost a little over $2000 but you can grind enough coffee to last for months in a single press of a button. For those who are big coffee drinkers having a machine like this that is reliable and will last a long time can be very reassuring.

Finding the best coffee grinder for your home can be challenge but if you do your homework and do some research it will be a lot easier.  The same can apply when you are looking for new coffee makers.  There are so many styles out there - dual coffee makers, capsule coffee makers - even coffee makers with built in grinders!
