How to Choose the Best Paintball Gun

By | May 20, 2010 | 2 Comments | Rating: 0

The 'best paintball gun' doesn't really exist. This is because what appears to be the best paintball gun to a beginner may not actually be one for an expert player. If you happen to be a beginner, then I would just recommend you to play the game a lot – perhaps paintball isn't your thing, or you may just figure out that you have a growing passion for the game and would like a gun that fires more rapidly, or maybe you can tell that you want to be more of a sniper and will need a gun that has a scope.

Best Paintball Guns

As for the guns themselves, there is quite a huge selection for you to choose from. If you are looking for a cheap paintball gun that is priced under $100, no problem it can be done. You should consider these 5 packages which can be picked up for under $200.

1. Tippmann 98 Custom:
This is a reliable introductory paintball gun that can be easily upgraded with extra modifications. It is quite possibly the best paintball gun on the market for beginners.

2. Smart Parts Vibe:
This is a classic package with many capabilities. It's slightly better considering the fact that it's electro-pneumatic making it a very fast, lightweight gun that is ideal for beginners. The price is very reasonable when you compare it to similar versions which have the same features but cost a lot more. All in all, this is the best paintball gun for the money.

3. WGP MG-7:
This gun normally retails for $200 but you can find many online retailers that will sell it for $150. It allows for rapid shooting and has a very high performance level considering it has a plastic shell which may seem flimsy at times.

4. BT-4:
This paintball marker is quite similar to the Tippmann 98 Custom but it has its own unique quality. It can be very durable and is highly upgradeable.

5. Sypder VS1:
This is part of the Spyder's Vision Series and it is an electro-mechanical gun that comes with an electronic grip which includes semi-automatic and 3-shot burst firing modes. This paintball gun is simple to use, lightweight, and can be a great choice for those with limited CO2.

In general, as one becomes more experienced in the game of paintball, he/she will better understand what's best for his/her needs. Once you have discovered the kind of player you think you want to be, you can buy a new gun or simply buy and upgrade something like the Piranha GTI Plus. It is definitely not hard to pick out the best paintball gun!

Um, did you just say scope and sniper in a paintball article? Using a scope or sight on a marker is more hassle than an advantage. Especially on a tippmann where there is an off-set feedneck and it's heard to properly hold the marker without a ninja 48 tank or smaller. Not to mention, a scope will not work as paintballs are not bullets and don't shoot straight (unless you have a tiberious with first strike) and with a mask inbetween you and the scope, it's hard to see through.

For a first paintball marker you want a speedball marker so it's light, efficient, and easy to use.
Just my $0.02, the article was very well written and informative.
