If you have window blinds in your house then you already know how awful they are to clean. Its a time consuming job that nobody likes. I used to lay them on the sidewalk and with a soapy scrub brush I would scrub them, both sides, rinse them off with a hose and hang them over the clothes line to dry. One blind would take at least a half hour not to mention the kneeling or squating over the blind. But I have found a way that works for me.

Things You Will Need

A bath tub, a good stong soap ( I use Dawn dish soap) and a kitchen broom. The broom should be of the stiffer variety.

Step 1

Fill the tub with the hottest water you can, and pour in the soap during the fill.

Step 2

Place the window blinds into the soapy water and let them soak for about 30 minutes.

Step 3

Take a firm bristled broom and scrub the blinds. Using this method sometimes misses some of the dirt but it will only take you a few minutes to check out and scrub away any dirt that was left behind.

Step 4

Rinse the blinds off with warm water and then you can hang them on the clothes line to dry. If you don't have a clothes line you can string a thin rope across your tub to hang the blind on.

This should help speed up the whole window blind cleaning job. I do it this was all the time and love that I don't spend my whole day on my knees on the sidewalk cleaning blinds.
