How to Clean a Computer Screen

By | Nov 19, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

When you look at your computer does it look like you are peering through an old dusty window? Perhaps it's time for a clean, but rather than just take off a layer of dust, here are a few ways you can clean your computer screen to make it look like new.

First you need to take off the dust. Before you can deep clean your computer screen you will want to remove the outer layer of dust. Grab your duster, or just use a napkin or paper towel to wipe off the dust. Once you have removed all the grime attached to your computer screen, you are ready for a wipe down. Wipe down your computer screen and remove as much dust as possible.

Grab some Windex (or similar glass cleaner) and spray a tiny bit on a paper towel (don't spray on the computer screen because it might end up spraying somewhere you don't want it to). To clean a computer screen, gently proceed to wipe across your computer screen, moving in a downward motion. If you have a lot of dust and dirt, seal of the crack between the glassy surface and the plastic with a paper towel. This way all the dust and dirt won't become permanently lodged in your monitor.

After you have performed a brief glass cleaning exercise, you should find something to seal it-don't forget this vital step in obtaining a clean computer screen. This is usually where specialty screen cleaners come in. By the sheer nature of these chemicals (the way they are charged among other things) they tend to repel dirt and dust. If you don't have access to these chemicals, not to worry-your computer screen should already look much cleaner, and these chemicals often don't work as well as they claim they do (doesn't everything?)
