How to Compress Files Using WinZip

If you have ever wanted to transfer files to another computer or fit files onto a computer disk but have found that you do not have enough space, there are things that you can do to make more space. There are programs that will help you make files smaller so that you can save space and transfer files with ease. One such program that will help you do this is WinZip. Windows also comes with an extraction and compression program that will help you change file sizes for transfer.

If you have ever wanted to know how to compress files using WinZip or by using the compression program with Windows, this article will explain how. The process is quite simple and self explanatory. To add files to a compression file directory, all you need to do is click on "add". You will need to select the file or folder that you want to add to the directory and click "OK". You can choose to add single files or single folders. You have the option of doing both. Once you select your file, the next thing that you need to do is click compress, so that the files are reduced in size and added to the compression file. Once this process is complete, you will have successfully transfered and added a file to a WinZip or compression file. You will now be able to transfer files that were previously too large to transfer, with much greater ease.

WinZip and file compression utilities are also great for saving space or freeing up space on a computer. If you want to make more room for other files, you can always compress files. You can do this with a compression utility like WinZip, but you will only be able to do this to files that are not currently in use by Windows, otherwise your computer may not function well.

There are also other programs in Windows that will help you compress space on your computer and make room for other files, but they are a bit different that what WinZip is, and they are technically used for backing up a computer or for general disk clean up and speeding up the computer. This is how to compress files using WinZip and other applications. If you find that you are having any difficulties Zipping files using WinZip, the easiest and fastest way to Zip a file is to just open a new WinZip file by right clicking on your desktop, creating a new WinZip file and then opening that file and then dragging and dropping the files into the WinZip file that you want compressed.
