How to Copy a Key with a Coke Can

Guide to Making a Copy of a Key with a Pop Can

Believe it or not, you can quite easily make a copy of your house key with just a few simple items. The key will be a bit flimsy, but it still totally works. Ideally you should get a key cut professionally, but if you are in a pinch and need a second key in a hurry, this is a quick solution.

What you will need:

Empty Can of Pop
Scissors
Pen

And if for some reason you think that this make shift key won't work, watch the following video where we show it being used in an elevator!

If you have a heavier duty lock that requires a little muscle to turn, one suggestion would be to make a 2-3 layer thick version of the key to increase the strength.

Why make a video so obviously false? To get people to sign up for infobarrel just to post how clearly false this video is? Now, if you were to take that 'copy key' and dub it about 10-20 times, to make it 10-20 times THICKER it might actually have the resistance necessary to withstand the torque required...of course just go to Walmart and pay 2.50 (Canadian, like 10 cents US) to get it done properly...considering you have the original already. Now, you show me a video on how to make a key by SHOVING A COKE CAN INTO A LOCK I'd pay good money to learn that one!

Yes I am replying to my own comment, I can't seem to edit my original. Coke cans in Canada are not nearly thick enough to do this, and multi-layered can copies don't hold the grooves properly...after a while they just degrade...I tried this 'trick' myself.
