How to Curl Your Hair the Right Way

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 1 | |

Curling your hair is easy. But to do it in such a way that the curls last a long time and in a way that doesn't damage your hair, takes a little bit of know-how. In this article, I will give you a step by step guide to curl your hair the right way. At the end of the article, you will be able to take you hair iron and successfully create glamorous curls that everyone will be envious of.

Before you begin, you need to choose a good quality curling iron. There is a wide range of hair curling irons that you can buy. You may opt for a high priced model or an inexpensive travel curling iron. Whatever one you choose, make sure that it is one that you are happy to work with and suits your hair type and length.

However, regardless of the type you choose, I recommend you buy one that has ceramic plates. Ceramic hair irons use infrared to heat your hair. This heat is gentler on your hair than other types and has the benefit of giving your hair a smoother and silkier look using iconic technology. These types of iron won't damage your hair as much as other irons.

Step 1

You need to wash and condition your hair with good quality hair products. You should use a heat protection product to reduce any damaged caused by the hot iron. Completely dry the hair before you start, preferably using a towel.

Step 2

Take sections of your hair and clip it back. The sections should be 1 to 2 inches. Take one section of hair and brush it free of any knots.

Step 3

Apply the curling iron to the section of the hair and tightly roll the barrel towards the roots. You need to make sure that the barrel is completely closed and the hair ends are all inside the barrel.

Step 4

Hold the hair for around 10-15 seconds. Then open the curling iron slowly and move on to other sections of hair.

Step 5

When all your hair is curled, spray the hair lightly with hair spray.

These are simple steps to curl your hair. By following them closely, you will be able to get curls that last a long time and produce them in such a way that your hair won't be damaged. Just remember that you should use a ceramic curling iron and to use heat protection products before your start.
