How to Deal with Stress and Keep your Sanity

All of us have those times when the stress just seems like too much—but don't despair. These simple steps will help you deal with stress and keep your sanity—so you can have your cake and eat it too!

Before you can deal with the stress (and keep your sanity) you need to calm down. Sit down and count slowly to 100. Don't let your mind think of anything except your counting.

The next step is to figure out what's most important. It will help you deal with stress if you can eliminate everything that isn't important. Find a few things in your life that are most important to you and let everything else fade away.

To deal with stress and keep your sanity you need to set goals. Find a few things you wish to accomplish, and set a realistic time to accomplish your goals. Don't put too much pressure on your mind or body to reach unrealistic goals.

After you set your goals, it's best to prioritize: setting your priorities is the key to deal with stress. Determine which of your goals is most important and should come first, everything else should just be a nice addition if it gets completed.

Finally make sure to get plenty of sleep and exercise. Don't get consumed in work or the many other stressful things in life. Maintain your sanity and deal with stress appropriately. If your mind and body are happy it will be much easier to deal with stress.
