By | Sep 17, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

The Chinese art of Feng Shui is an ancient decorating style that promotes longevity, serenity, and peace. Feng Shui is the key to positive energy and positive thinking. Use this tradition in your home and outdoor space to bring a simple and positive atmosphere throughout your living areas.

Feng Shui uses all 5 elements: earth, wood, fire, water, and metal. Depending on how these elements are displayed determines how people will feel in the room. Learn how to get started decorating in the Feng Shui style.

First, remove all clutter from your home. Clutter repels positive energy and causes chaos. There is no room for chaos in a Feng Shui room. Throw out those old magazines. Remove that oversized couch. Simplify your life. Clutter effects you negatively in all areas of your life.

Second, create a positive environment for yourself and your family. This starts with selecting the right color theme for the room. Select colors that promote creativity, serenity, and peace. Shades of blue promote healing, calming, and relaxing feelings. Purple is recognized as the color for mental and physical healing. The color white symbolizes confidence and purity. Yellow is recognized as a friendly color. It promotes cheerfulness and warmth.

Third, make the flow of your room and the placement of the furniture in the room constant. When arranging furniture, you want to be able to get to each area of the room without delay. Your furniture should not block doorways. Your knick knacks should be seen but not easily knocked over. This would cause chaos. The room should be open and inviting. For example, try using a round marble coffee table in your living room instead of a square one. This will make it easier to walk around.

Finally, celebrate your new living space. Take a moment to light a candle or incense. Consciously take in your new room and invite the positive energy and thinking. Celebrating your new room opens up your mind to the new improved you. It allows good things to start heading your way.

Feng Shui has many advantages. You can apply its teachings to just about anything, even kitchen sink taps. Get started on your own journey to longevity, serenity, and peace.
