It's estimated that there are over 45 million cell phones sitting around in closets and drawers not being used. These phones could help our citizens who have an emergency by converting them into emergency use 911 cell phones. Here is how to donate your old cell phone and help others.


Things You Will Need

Step 1

Find your old cell phone and check to make sure it turns on.

Step 2

Visit the internet site www.donatemycellphone.org


Step 3

At the www.donatemycellphone.org website click on Donate Your Phone. It is the second tab at the top.

Step 4

Click the link to download a free Pre-Paid Mailing Label and mail your phone in.


Step 5

Or send your phone & battery to:

Your donation enables someone without a phone to be able to call 911 in case of an emergency.

Many retailers such as Sprint, Verizon, BestBuy and others will also offer a postage paid envelope when you decide to upgrade your cell phone.
