How to Drink Red Wine to Improve Health

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

You have heard that you can drink red wine to improve health and wonder if this is true. Yes, it is true if you drink red wine in moderation. Drinking grape juice may also help but it is not as effective as the wine.

Drink one glass of red wine to lower your risk of developing heart disease and increase HDL levels. HDL is the "good" cholesterol.. The flavanoids found in the wine are responsible for this. Don't drink more than two glasses or you will begin to lose the benefits of the flavanoids.

Drink one glass of red wine a day to benefit from the resveratrol in the wine. Don't overdo it and drink any more than two glasses. Resveratrol plays an important role in fending off cancer, aging and as an antioxidant.

Understand that while this will assist in improving some health issues, it is also believed to increase a woman's risk of breast cancer. Women may benefit from adding non alcoholic grape juice to their diets in place of the red wine. While not as effective as the red wine, grape juice does have positive effects and you can drink more of it in one day.
