How to Easily Eat More High Fiber Foods

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Eating more high fiber foods on a daily basis can be easily accomplished with just a little know how and guidance. Increasing your consumption of fiber will also help with weight loss, constipation and fighting off cardiovascular disease and even some cancers.

Increase your daily consumption of high fiber containing foods such as fresh fruits. Bananas, oranges, apples, berries and grapes are easily kept on hand to add to cereals or to snack on. You can even add frozen grapes or berries to water to act like ice cubes and then eat them as you drink the water. Talk about multi-tasking!

Increase your daily consumption of raw vegetables. Carrots, broccoli and cauliflower are easily kept on hand to add to salads or just to snack on. Eat more high fiber foods such as the root vegetables like carrots and potatoes. Leaving the skin on, and then eating the skin of carrots and potatoes, is a good source of fiber.

Increase the use of beans in your overall diet. Beans like black eyed peas, lentils and Lima beans are especially high in fiber. A 3 bean salad is an easily made side dish full of high fiber. There is such a wide variety of beans available that you should have no problem incorporating a different type of bean into meals every day. Gas issues can be addressed with over the counter remedies.

Eat more whole grain products. Cut out white breads and rolls in favor of bran, oat bran, rye and whole wheat bread and rolls. Eat bran or whole wheat cereals. Switch white rice out in favor of high fiber brown rice.
