How to Find Bass in the Summer

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Bass tend to go deep as the summer heat warms the water. There are situations and areas that attract bass to shallow summer fishing waters. Know the lake you are fishing, ask locals or find a map. It's not impossible to find them during summer fishing if you know where to look.

Things You Will Need

Tackle box

Live bait/lures

Net Stringer or bucket

Fishing pole

Good current makes cooler and highly oxygenated water for the bass and bait fish. Bait fish move into the break area and the bass will wait for them on the downstream side. They will hide and snatch the bait fish as it passes. Look for these areas when fishing.

Look for indentations along weed beds and hollows in them. Weed beds provide shelter, oxygen and food for the bass and the bait fish. Fish these areas, some bass will be found there.

They like land points, submerged islands, rocks, fallen trees and sand bars where bait fish tend to be. Watch for "boils" of them feeding on bait fish. Crawfish also attract them and they can be found along rocky areas while fishing at night.

They can also be found in areas where there are bushes along or in the water. Insects and their larvae fall into the water attracting bait fish. Bass won't be far behind.

They can be found around launch ramps. The water gets stirred up and muddy, and the churning water stirs up plankton for bait fish and the bass will follow.
