Southwest Airlines Tickets

Sign up for their Ding Alerts.

Ding is a fantastic way to save money on airline tickets. They constantly offer different deals to all over the United States. The only drawback to Southwest’s Ding is that they usually expire fairly quickly. So if you think you might want to take them up on their offer, already have some dates in mind. The more flexible you can be, the more money you will be able to save with Southwest Airlines. Signing up for Ding is completely free, and can be done at Southwest Airline’s official website. Even if there is not an incredible Ding offer that you are seeking, they might have a different deal going on online.

Apply for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Card.

The Southwest Rapid Rewards Card works just like a normal credit card, except you will get points that can be redeemed for future flights with Southwest. They are also constantly adding different places that will allow you to get extra points. The Southwest Rapid Rewards Card does have an annual fee, so be aware of that if you decide that you want to use this credit card. Because if you are not using it enough, it will end up costing you more money than it is saving you. Take some time to look over how much money you have spent over the last few years and see if it would be enough to make having this credit card worthwhile. There is a lot of fine print to read, as with any credit card, but it can really help you out when you are trying to accumulate more points towards a Southwest flight. Some places are worth multiple points per dollar, instead of just one point. Use this information to your advantage. Look through your normal credit card bill and see if there are any slight changes that you could make to accommodate your new Southwest Rapid Rewards Card.

Waiting standby with Southwest Airlines.

Depending on the time of the year, and what airport you are at, flying standby with Southwest is a great possibility to save you money. Be sure that if you are planning on flying standby with Southwest Airlines that you can be extremely flexible. If you are in a time crunch, flying standby might not be your best bet. If the plane does not fill up, then you will be able to get onto a flight at a highly discounted rate. But if you have to be somewhere, and the plane is full, you run the risk of having to shell out a lot of money for an airline ticket. If you want to better your chances of flying standby with Southwest airlines, try to pick a time of year when people are not traveling as much to certain locations. Some vacation destinations will not have many visitors during certain times of the year. This could be because of weather, school, etc. Just do a little research online to see when would be a good time to fly standby with Southwest Airlines, so you will not spend all of your time waiting for a cheap flight that will never come.
