How to Find Cheaper Car Insurance

By | Aug 30, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

With a little bit of persistence and some work, you can find cheaper car insurance for your family. You may have to think outside of the box but it can be found if you can stay focused and be flexible at the same time.

Contact your current insurance company and simply ask them for cheaper car insurance. If you have had no accidents or tickets, make sure to point this out to them and ask for lower rates. Ask them if there is anything you can do to lower your rates. If you recently had a teenager become an adult and strike out on their own you may have overlooked dropping them from your car insurance.

Ask family and friends who they use and how much they are paying. You may be surprised to find they have had cheaper car insurance rates than you have had all along. Ask them for any warnings and advice they may have for you.

Shop around. Don't be afraid to call a number of lesser known companies while you are doing this. Take notes and compare all of the plans and quotes you have been given so you can determine the cheaper car insurance plans available to you.

Ask the driver's education program at your teenager's high school what programs and opportunities are out there for lowering costs to insure teen drivers. Some companies offer incentive programs for cheaper car insurance for teens who maintain a certain grade point average.
