Caring for children and helping them grow is complicated.It requires understanding a childs needs and being able to meet those needs,as well as good judgement.

Even when parents know what children are like at differnt ages,it is important for them to remember that each child is an individual and some learn to do things earlier or later than others.Some need more time and encouragement..While parenthood is a lot of work and responsibility,it brings many joys as well.

There are many different ways to gain parenting skills.It depends on the time you have.There are classes in parenting usually at hospitals,community groups,etc, but you may not have the time or money to invest in these classes if not I have provided some other ways to you can build parenting skills too.You will see when you are a parent that different situations are handled different ways depending on what the situation is based on.As parents we hope there is more good with our experience than bad.One thing that always helps to remember is they are only litte once and when they are grown up and gone you cant go back and change anything that has happened in the past.It's natural for parents to ask themselves and wonder if they are being a good parent when it comes to discipline but its something every parent has to learn to deal with.

Take time to Read reliable books,magazines articles,and online information about parenting.

Step 2

Gain experience working with or caring for children of the family or for friends.

Step 3

Ask the advice of some of your family and friends who have parenting experience.

Step 4

Observe parents and children wherever possible
