How to Get Ready for the Prom
Your prom night is a very special event. In order for it to successful and stress free as possible, you need to get ready in advanced. In this article, I will provide several tips on how to get ready for your prom and hopefully they can save you from any stressful moment of the big night.
Shop for Your Dress Early
You should start looking a dress two months before the big night. This will give you enough time to find the dress that you are comfortable with and have any alterations done if they are needed. Choosing a dress is one of the biggest issues you will have and getting it out of the way early will ensure that there is no rushing around a few days before hand trying to find a suitable dress. When you have purchased the dress, make sure you place it in a safe place and try it on again a week or two before the prom to make sure there is no need for last minute alterations.
Make Your Appointments Early
After your dress, the next important thing to do is to make your appointments - hair, nails, limo, hotel room, tan and makeup. By booking your appointment early, you will avoid the awful situation where all the salons and limos have been filled up and you struggle to find a place for you and your friends.
You may want to do your makeup and hair yourself. If this is the case, make sure you have suitable hair products and working styling items like hair curling irons, hair dryers, rollers and hair spray.
Find Your Look
Once you have your dress and appointments booked, it is time to start thinking about what you hairstyle and look you will be trying to achieve. Don't forget about jewellery like diamond cluster earrings, bracelets and broaches, and other accessories like handbags and even sunglasses.
A good idea is go through magazines and the internet, and find celebrities that suit your look and body shape. These people spend thousands of dollars to have their hair, makeup and clothes put together by professionals. By looking at what they wear on the red carpet, you can get their advice for free by taking ideas from celebrities that match your height, body shape, face shape and colouring.
Confirm Your Appointments
A few days before your appointment give the salon a call to confirm. Sometimes bookings go missing and it is best to confirm to avoid a situation of showing up and not being able to have your hair or nails done.
