How to Get Rid of Blackheads Forever

By Edited Oct 13, 2016 0 0

Almost everyone wants to know how to get rid of blackheads at some point in their life. These blackheads are formed when dead skin cells accumulate on your skin and clog your pores. Oil builds up on your face and you are left with blackheads. There are many things that can cause this. It might happen if you don't properly clean your skin. The wrong types of foundation or sunscreen can also lead to this problem. Too much moisturize or too much makeup can also lead to clogged pores.

To get rid of blackheads you need to do a couple different things. One thing you want to do is get rid of the ones you have quickly. The other thing you want to do is take the steps to make sure that they don't come back.

Start by getting into the habit of washing your face regularly and correctly. This can be done once or twice a day. Choose a good cleanser to wash your face with. Since you have problems with blackheads, you might want to look for one that is formulated especially for oily skin. A good ingredient to look for in a cleanser is witch hazel. You can buy a cleanser at the store or make your own at home.

You also want to make sure that you are completely removing your makeup at night. If you wait until you are really tired, it is possible that you aren't doing a thorough job. Try removing your makeup earlier in the evening. This will also give your skin more chance to breathe. While some moisturizers can lead to blackheads, there are some good ones on the market. Look for something that isn't oil-based. These steps alone will prevent most blackheads from occurring. That is because dead skin cells will be washed away and won't be able to clog your pores.

While cleansing your face will quickly improve your skin quality, it won't get rid of the blackheads that you currently have. You'll need to buy or make some products if you want those gone. One thing many people do is buy some nose strips that are made for removing blackheads. These are easy to use and fairly inexpensive. All you have to do is get the strip wet and place it on your nose. After it dries, you will pull it off. The glue of the strip will stick to the blackheads so that they will be removed at the same time of the strip. While these can be effective, I don't recommend them. They are fine to use occasionally, but they can do more harm than good. They can't be used on skin that is sunburned, sensitive, or dry. Repeated usage can cause irritation and they might remove healthy skin along with the blackheads. You'll do better if you exfoliate.

There are scrubs that you can make at home that will also help you get rid of blackheads quickly. An effective home remedy is made of honey and non-toasted wheat germ. To make this mask, heat up two tablespoons of honey and then add two tablespoons of wheat germ. You want the honey warm, but not boiling or bubbling because you will be placing this on your skin. Mix the two together. Put this on your face. You can cover your whole face if you would like, but it is best to focus on the areas most affected. Rub it in for about three or four minutes. Once it is on, let it set for about twenty minutes. After that time use warm water to rinse the mask off. You'll want to use this on a daily basis for about a week. Once you see results, you can quit completely or do it on a weekly basis to help keep the blackheads from coming back.

Another homemade remedy that you can use will help loosen the blackheads and wash them away. This one is made from a paste of honey, oatmeal and an egg white. This needs to be massaged into the skin for about ten minutes. After that it should be washed off with room temperature water.
Should you try to pop your blackheads? In general, you should avoid doing this. It can lead to scarring or bruising. If you do decide to pop them, hold a warm wet washcloth against the skin for about ten minutes before hand. This will make the blackhead soft and more likely to pop without problems.. When you do pop, apply pressure evenly to both sides and push down before you push up. If it doesn't work the first time quit. The more you do this the more likely it is that scarring will occur.

After you have gotten rid of them, you want to prevent blackheads from reoccurring. You can do this by changing your lifestyle and improving your overall skin health. One way to do this is exercise. If you want skin that glows, you'll need to sweat for it. Do moderate exercise five or six days a week. This can be anything that you enjoy whether it is swimming or cycling or boxing.

You'll also want to eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are greasy and devoid of nutrients. Instead, focus on lots of fresh fruits and vegetables that have tons of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This isn't saying you can never have cheesy pizza again. You just want to make sure that these are occasional treats instead of your diet's staple.

Finally, drink plenty of water. Sugary soda pop and caffienated coffee won't do anything for your skin. Only drink one or two of these a day. Drink six to eight glasses of water a day. It can be plain or you can get sparkling water or add some fruit for flavor.

Of course, continue to wash your face and exfoliate it regularly. This will take care of the oil that builds up and prevent your pores from being clogged. Continue to use skincare products that are good for your skin type.

You can use just one of the above methods or try more of them for faster results. If blackheads persist no matter what you try, you may want to make an appointment with a dermatologist. In addition to giving you custom-advice, they can also prescribe medicated creams or other solutions that might be more effective for you.
