Unlike furniture, pets, and small children, bugs do not make a nice addition to your home. This article will show you how to get rid of bugs in the house.

Before you aim to get rid of bugs in your house, it's best to prevent them from coming into your home. Seal off the cracks around the door and around the windows. Keep the front door closed, and put screens on the windows.

Once you've got your house sealed off, you can begin to get rid of the bugs in the house. One of the biggest things bugs enjoy is the free food you give them. Don't leave dishes in the kitchen sink, or on the counter, clean up crumbs on the floor often.

If preventative measures aren't getting rid of bugs in the house, it's time to take action. I'm all for getting rid of bugs, but killing usually isn't the most effective method. Instead, try putting a new scent in your home. Bugs don't like citrus scents (orange and lemon), and they don't like mint or peppermint. Maybe run to the store and grab a few candles for your house.

If these methods aren't working to get rid of bugs in the house, consider getting traps, or spraying. Ant traps work great for high traffic bug areas, but there's also sticky tape that works pretty well. If everything else fails, consider spraying high traffic areas with Raid spray.

If you just can't get rid of bugs in the house, consider hiring an exterminator. Although they can be pricey, they usually get the job done right.
