• Zinc pyrithione (or zinc omadine) Selenium sulfide or Ketoconazole are antibacterial and anti-fungal shampoos that eliminate yeasts and fungi that cause dandruff. Be careful though as stopping its use may cause a recurrence of dandruff.
• Coal tar, on the other hand, is the liquid derivative of coal. It is meant to treat psoriasis. Use this chemical with caution as excessive use may cause cancer.
• Salicylic acid shampoos accelerate the easy shedding of your scalp that helps skin pores from getting blocked and causing dandruffs.
If you want to go natural, you can whip up some ingredients that can be found in your own home such as:
• Tea tree oil has always been known to be anti-fungal and when mixed with lotions, shampoos and oils may be massaged into the scalp. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse for a healthier dandruff-free scalp.
• Red clover or cornflower extracts helps the easy shedding of your scalp's flakes.
• Oils moisturize and rejuvenate dry scalps.
• Vinegar when used to rinse scalp corrects your hair's PH balance.
