How to Get Rid of Termites Step By Step

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

There are many ways on how to get rid of termites. Listed in this article is one of the options that you can use in order to render your home termite-free. This is called the bait system.

What the bait system does is to spread poison into the colony through the workers, gradually killing them.

Step 1: Assess how much damage may have already occurred in your house and the supporting structures as a result of termite infestation. This type of method usually works well or is recommended if you are still experiencing the initial stages of termite infestation. Remember, this is just one way on how to get rid of termites.

Step 2: Bait systems, in general, involve placing plastic tubes into the ground in various locations around your house. For this initial step, only wood is placed into the tubes. Place them in as many strategic locations as you can since there is no one way to predict where termites will have their colonies.

Step 3: You may hire a pest control service to check if the termites are getting any of the wood in the plastic tubes. You can also do the inspection yourself. In any case, you may also see the termites themselves going into the plastic tubes.

Step 4: After the presence of termites have been confirmed, the wood will be replaced or mixed with a pesticide which can have various detrimental effects on the termites.

Step 5: Once the termites (most likely their worker class) have ingested the poison, they will be spreading it throughout the colony. This is made possible because termites feed and groom each other.

Step 6: Continue to monitor the progress that the poison is making. Poisons used to reduce termites are, generally, inhibiting in nature. They halt the mental and physiological development of termites, often causing abnormalities.

It kills the infected termites but not immediately so that the poison will spread. This method on how to get rid of termites is said to be more ecological and safer. However, it may cost a bit more and will really take time.
