How to Get to Boracay Philippines

Boracay Island is located in the heart of the Visayas region in the Philippine Islands. Although there are hundreds of great, scenic and beautiful beaches that can be found in the Philippines, there can only be one paradise and that is Boracay Island. Covered with fine white sands, accentuated by crystal clear blue waters and lush greens to compliment the overall scene, Boracay Island, Philippines was bagged to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. People from all walks of life come to Boracay Island to relax, enjoy and have some fun. Its beautiful stretch of white beach continues to capture the hearts of the people who frequent the island.

There are several ways on how to get to Boracay Island, Philippines depending on your budget and the degree of adventure that you want to experience on the way to the island. First you have to book to the Philippines first, specifically to Manila. Then from there you can choose between these options on how to get to Boracay Island:

  1. Air - from your point of origin, you can book a connecting flight that will take you to Boracay Island. You can choose to go to Kalibo Airport which is 1.5 hours drive to Caticlan, Malay, Aklan or book straight to Godofredo P. Ramos airport in Caticlan, Malay, Aklan. This ios the easiest and fastest route to go to the paradise island of Boracay.

  1. Sea - since people from all over the Philippines want to go to Boracay, there are several shipping companies that travel to the paradise. From Manila, this will take you on a 15-hour boat adventure straight to Caticlan. This boat will pass through different islands within the Visayas region but it usually travels at nighttime so it's like camping out in the sea and when you wake up you will be able to see the paradise.

  1. Land - this is the most tiring and longest route that you have to take going to Boracay. People who love adventure will definitely like this route. This will entail several transfers, from Manila to Batangas to Mindoro and finally to Caticlan. You only have to take one bus that will go on and off boats thus being named as "Ro-ro" (roll on - roll off). On this route you will be able to see the beauty of the island of Mindoro as you will have to pass through the island before the bus rides another boat that finally goes to Caticlan.

Caticlan, Malay, Aklan is the gateway to paradise. Everybody that wishes to go to Boracay Island will have to pass through here for the final boat ride to the paradise. Whatever route you may wish to take, this will all take you to the magnificent Island of Boracay in the Philippines.
