It seems like just when you find the perfect fitting and best looking baseball cap, it is always the first one to get sweat stains and dirt on it. If you want to save yourself the time and expense of searching for the next perfect baseball cap to purchase, then here is a way to hand wash your favorite cap so that you can get many more uses out of it.
What you will need:
* Warm Water
* Gentle laundry detergent like Woolite
* Large coffee can or saucepan about the size of the inside of your cap
* Small cleaning brush or toothbrush
What You Need to Do:
Step 1. Fill your sink or a bucket with warm water. While the water is running, add a small amount of the detergent in. If you are using Woolite for delicates, then you just need a capful. That is about a tablespoon. You don't want to use too much soap, so start with less and then add more if you need to. Baseball caps are difficult to rinse out and you can't wring them out, so the less soap you can use, the easier the process will be for you.
Step 2. Gently place the baseball cap into the water and let it set soaking for a couple minutes to loosen up the dirt and sweat.
Step 3. Then, use your cleaning brush or toothbrush to gently scrub any stained surfaces.
Step 4. Once you are satisfied that it is clean, run it under cold water until it is thoroughly rinsed. Make sure it is a gentle stream of water to avoid ruining the shape of the hat.
Step 5. Use an absorbent towel to dab the cap and try to soak up as much water as you can. Then set it to dry by placing it over an object like a large coffee can or a saucepan. You can use anything you have around the house that will help the cap keep its shape while drying.
