The Environment is all around us. Unfortunately, all to often, many people become so engrossed in their daily lives that they simply forget to do just a few minor things that can really pay dividends in helping to safeguard the beauty and essence of the environment. From grade school, among the many things children are taught from an academic standpoint, learning to be resourceful and good stewards of their time, as well as, the environment should be engrained in them at an early age.

Fortunately, we can all incur some really great benefits to the environment by simply making some easy changes, or adjustments, to our everyday lives. Sometimes it simply requires mentioning this for people realize the true importance of doing these things. These steps, to help the environment every day, can be done very easily. In some cases, all that is required is that with simply STOP doing some of the detrimental things that we sometimes do without really even thinking.

Natural Insect Repellants

Step 1

Just by simply planting trees, we can all help the environment a little every day. Many people do already know and are aware that trees help the environment, however, with the growth of big cities, its easy to forget especially when a real life tree may not be in sight for miles. To plant a tree everyday may actually be unrealistic so, just making a goal to do more than you do now could really go a long way than had you done nothing at all. This is oftentimes a great activity to involve children in outside.

Fortunately, on the scale of the ecosystem benefits, planting trees also helps to trap harmful CO2 emissions.

Step 2

Humans have gone way over board with our use of pesticides, in my own honest opinion. Fortunately, there are natural products that can be used to repel insects naturally. When your garden is being attacked by these curious creatures, you can use such natural insect repellants as chives, marigolds, chrysanthemums, mint, and basil. Few people seem to know that these alternatives even exist, work, and can ultimately provide fresh herbs for cooking inside your home.

Step 3

With the advent of the internet, reducing paper waste has become a very obtainable reality. Most of the most read major papers are now available online, so there really isn't a great need to have paper that ultimately leads to waste. In place of paper towels, cloths or rags can be used to wipe up spills easily. Many people do this already, and rags or cloths can actually be more effective.

As you can see, there are many simple ways that everyone can begin to help take care of the environment everyday. You may not want to immediately jump into a significant amount of hardcore environmental activism, however, you may actually find that doing some of these things actually occur a great benefit to yourself, as well as to the environment.

Tips & Warnings

Involving children in your environmental endeavors can really be a great way to instill this care, and stewardship, from a very young age.
