How to Keep Up To Date with Current Affairs

By Edited Jun 29, 2015 0 0

The world is changing all the time, with political events, new celebrities, and changes in technology which affect us all.

Being up to date with current affairs is crucial if you want to be able to carry a conversation and be thought of as intelligent.

As you get older, people expect you to be more informed. This isn't something you can avoid, so be ready for it.

Things You Will Need

You will need to have 3 (at least) news websites which you follow regularly. I recommend not choosing all conservative or liberal websites, and try to find at least one which is not situated in the US.

I recommend using CNN, Foxnews, and the BBC.

Using 3 websites is an excellent way to get a wide variety of opinion and to be able to come up with your own opinion after going through various analyses and points of view.

You should also read at least one newspaper. I like the New Your Times or the Herald Tribune, but it's really up to you and there are some great newspapers out there that you can choose from.

Tips & Warnings

Always be critical of what you read or watch.

Make sure to get your news from a serious source. Youtube videos are not serious for the most part.

Don't fall for political spins and public affair campaigns.

Always maintain your own sense of what is right and wrong.

Never rely on a single source for any news item.
