So once you have a clean bathroom, how do you keep your bathroom clean? In the first part of this article, I talked about deep cleaning a bathroom. Once it is clean, you can keep it that way by just spending about five minutes or less a day on it. Then once a week, you may want to do a more in depth cleaning if it needs it.
In the first section of this article, we'll talk about the daily cleaning. Then you'll discover that weekly cleaning just takes a few minutes more!
Daily Bathroom Cleaning
I know that it can seem like a huge deal to clean the bathroom on a daily basis. But once it becomes a habit, it's really worth it. It only takes a few minutes, and you never have to worry about company dropping over unexpectedly and finding how you really live.
I find that it's best to clean right after you are finished getting ready in the morning. It can become so automatic that you do it without thinking about it!
Give it about three weeks of doing it every day for cleaning to become a habit. You'll be happy that you did.
Squeegee the Shower
Before you even exit the shower, take a minute to wipe it off. You can get a little squeegee for under $10 and wipe down the walls. It's actually pretty fun to do.
Alternatively, there are automatic shower cleaners that you press a button and they spray the shower down for you. Just make sure the curtain is closed before you press it!
Wipe the Sink
Start by wiping off the sink. You can just use a spray bottle with soapy water, and a washrag. Give it a quick spray and wipe off the countertop, the sink basin, and the faucet. Get rid of all those toothpaste marks!
Swish the Toilet
Using the same rag as the sink, spray and wipe down the toilet. Get the seat and the lid especially. If you have little boys, you also might want to wipe down the sides, base and the immediate floor. This can prevent that boy bathroom smell.
You don't even need toilet bowl cleaner to clean the toilet bowl. Just squirt a little soap or shampoo in the bowl, and use the scrubber to swish it. Then flush it all away.
This whole process should only take you a few minutes, and you'll find that the bathroom stays clean all week long!
Once a week, you will want to go a little more in depth. But not as much as you think! Just add in wiping off the mirrors, getting the top and sides of the toilet, and sweeping and mopping the floors to the normal daily cleaning. It will take you about fifteen minutes instead of five.
I do like to use antibacterial cleaners in my weekly cleaning instead of soap and water. I feel this helps us avoid any germs. But you should use the cleaners you feel most comfortable with.
So there you have it! As you can see, daily cleaning of the bathroom is not nearly as hard as an in depth cleaning. So once you have it clean, keep your bathroom clean by following these simple steps!
