How to Know if You Have Histoplasmosis
Drugs used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and some other illnesses may cause serious and possibly fatal infections. The drugs Enbrel, Remicade, Humira and Cimzia help rhumatoid arthritis sufferers by inhibiting the immune system from turning on itself , however, it also works to keep the immune system by protecting itself from other types of infections and funguses such as histoplasmosis. The Food and Drug Administration had determined that 45 people have died after taking these drugs due to infection from this fungus.
Determine if you are taking Remicade, Humira, Cimzia or Enbrel. They are not just for arthritis, but also for conditions such as psoriasis, juvenile arthritis and Crohn's disease.
Stay out of the dirt and away from bird and bat droppings. The fungus histoplasmosis is found in particular in areas where these droppings are present. In addition, if you have a bird, be careful when cleaning the droppings to avoid any respiration or contact with body openings.
Check for symptoms that may include an inability to breathe and respiratory ailments. In addition, people suffering from the ailment may have a cough that produces no phlegm.
Get to a doctor if you experience chest pain or a high fever.Symptoms may appear mild at first, so if you suspect you have the condition tell your doctor to administer an X-ray. An X-ray may be necessary to determine if you have the fungus.Symptoms will worsen if not treated and can be fatal.
