How to Lace Shoes Quickly

By | Nov 11, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Lacing your shoes doesn't seem overly difficult, but if you lace shoes incorrectly it can make the best of shoes look sloppy and unprofessional. Not to worry, this simple how-to guide will show you how to lace your shoes quickly.

There are numerous ways that you can lace your shoes. The method I want to focus on is probably the quickest and most widely accepted method, especially popular in running circles, the most basic stitch.

Begin by inserting both sides of the lace at the base of the shoe. Make sure the bridge across the bottom two holes is flat and straight. This is the base of your lacing and if this doesn't look good, the rest of your lacing will probably follow suit.

Take each end of the bridge you have just made. Put them through the hole directly above the one they are already threaded through.

Now you're ready to begin criss-crossing. Take each lace and cross it to the opposite side, putting it down through the hole.

Now you're going to repeat the same step before, where you take each lace and thread it through the hole directly above it.

Now cross the shoe laces again, you should be nearing the top of the shoe. Choose whether to do another cross or to go under and pop the laces out for the top hole. Then tie your shoes and enjoy your new laces!
