How to Lose Weight Fast

By Edited Mar 21, 2014 0 1

If you are overweight, odds are you have already spent time trying to lose weight fast, but have had mixed results. Despite what you may hear on television or read in magazines, there are no secret products, machines, or fad diets that will bring you to your goals. All you need to to is take a common sense approach to your fitness and nutrition habits and you will find that it is not as difficult as you thought to naturally lose weight fast.

Things You Will Need

A Willingness to Work

Step 1

Remove all simple carbohydrates from your diet as best as you are able. This includes foods like: sugar, starch, white flour, potatoes, and white rice. An excess of carbohydrates will result in an insulin spike, in which all those extra carbs are converted immediately into fat. This is one of the best things you can do to help you naturally lose weight fast.

Step 2

Eat lots of fiber rich foods. Vegetables, particularly salad greens, are a great source of fiber, as well as other vital nutrients that your body needs. A high fiber meal will keep your stomach full for a long time, keeping those nasty hunger pangs at bay. Fiber will also help regulate your blood sugar and keep your metabolism moving along.

Step 3

Drink only water, and lots of it. You cannot lose weight fast if you are consuming all manner of hidden calories in the form of sugary beverages. Water will keep you hydrated, as well as full. Whenever you feel hungry, just drink a glass of water and wait fifteen minutes before eating anything. You may find that you are no longer hungry.

Step 4

Eat plenty of fish, eggs, and lean meat. As you work out, your body will need lean protein in order to build up your muscles, and these are excellent sources. Do not be afraid of consuming fat, but make sure that the majority of the fats you consume are the healthy omega 6 varieties found in fish, flaxseed, and grass fed meat. Be sure to eat a variety to ensure proper nutrition.

Step 5

Use artificial sweeteners as sparingly as possible. Yes, we all have a sweet tooth or two, but it is much more difficult to naturally lose weight fast if you are succumbing to constant sugar cravings. Stevia is a natural sweetener that contains very few calories and does not affect blood sugar levels. It is also frequently packaged along with fiber, and we already know that fiber is a good thing.

Step 6

Exercise! The only way to make a body healthier is to give it lots of care and maintenance, which, in the case of the human body, is exercise. The importance of this step cannot be understated, and you absolutely will not lose weight fast and in a healthy manner if you do not exercise. Work yourself up to thirty to forty minutes of cardio five to six times per week, with strength training sessions interspersed throughout the week. Cardio will burn calories while you are exercising and improve your cardiovascular system, while strength training will not only improve strength and endurance, but also burn more calories when you are at rest, helping you lose even more weight.
Remember that you are as strong as you believe yourself to be. Never give up, and you will achieve not only your goal to naturally lose weight fast, but any other goal you set for yourself. Just break down what you need to do into simple, manageable portions, and you will achieve your dreams.

Tips & Warnings

Make sure that you get enough rest between workouts. Overtraining is very real, and can lead not only to slower progress, but also injury. It may sound odd, but it is entirely possible to lose weight too fast.
  • If you are morbidly obese or are suffering from any chronic medical conditions, consult your doctor before attempting any serious lifestyle change.
