When is the last time you put yourself first? Is your worst enemey you? People pleaser? Do you treat yourself like dirt? Lacking confidence? Really ask yourself these questions. Accept what is and use your feelings and experiences to move on to a new (not different) person who loves to look in the mirror. Love yourself for all the good and the bad. Love yourself again. Love yourself because you are worthy, beautiful, lovely, and so much more. Learn how to love yourself.

Things You Will Need

Step 1

WRITE IT DOWN. Get all your thoughts and frustrations about yourself down on paper. Spill the beans! Let it out! Express yourself like you've always wanted to. Write down why you're so upset or angry or bitter. Write down why you're so unhappy or sad or confused. Write down why you have trouble letting go of the past or accepting who you are. Write down why you get so upset with yourself. Write down why you please people all the time. Write it down. Get it out. All of it. The only way to learn from the past and move on to the "new" you is to understand the events, emotions, etc. that lead to this very point. Write it down and learn to love yourself...

Step 2

TALK TO SOMEONE. Trouble getting past the words on paper? Talk to a profeesional counselor. Talk to your mom. Talk to your best friend. Talk about the things you wrote down. Talk. Talk. Talk. Vocalizing the issues will help the other person not only read but see what is going on. Talk to a professional if you need advice. Talk to your friends and family if you need someone to listen. It never hurts to talk to both parties. A professional can help you understand the feelings of unworthiness, low self esteem, etc. Their guidance is great for dealing with it and preventing those negative feelings from happening again. Talk to someone and learn to love yourself...

Step 3

LOOK IN THE MIRROR. Face yourself. It's time to look in the mirror and face your worst enemy. Don't like the way something looks? Don't like the way you look? Don't like the wrinkles? Don't like the dark circles? Don't like the color of your hair? Don't like your complexion? Don't like who you've become? Don't like the tears? Don't like the bruises? Don't like your hard past? Don't like you anymore? Don't love you anymore? Those questions will and do get asked. But stop right there! Instead of going south with all the negative talk, lift yourself up. Say nice things. Be easy on you. You are beautiful. You are worthy. You are alive. You are great just the way you are. Accept you. Accept the imperctions. Accept and appreciate and praise all the wonderful qualities you do have. It's ok to be selfish in this way! Look in the mirror and learn to love yourself...

Step 4

ENJOY YOUR LIFE. Break away from old habits. Spread your wings and fly. Ask for help if you need it. Smile. Smile at yourself. Laugh. Laugh at yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back for doing a good job! Do what you want. Don't let people hold you back. You are your own person. You are the "new" you. Remember that. You have this one life. Have fun! Go travel. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Ask questions! Don't be afraid. Never let fear of anything stop you. People will laugh and point. But it's up to you to let that bother you. Who cares if you color your hair purple? Who cares if you wear the latest fashions! Who cares if you don't wear makeup? Who cares if you hang around certain groups of people? Who cares?!! Be you. Love you. Accept you. Have fun with you. Smile at you. Love. Love. Love. Enjoy your life and learn to love yourself....

Be patient. Some steps will take longer that you might like. Some steps you might have to repeat. But the hope for you to eventually stop putting yourself down and loving you more and more. You can do it! Always ask for help if needed. Never be ashamed. Never stop trying. Never let people control you. Never be afraid.

Put yourself first. Love yourself. You'll love it!
