In these instructions, we are simplifying the baking process by using a pre-made pie crust and a store bought dark chocolate brownie mix. Things You Will Need:

  • Unbaked 9 inch pie crust
  • 20 oz. dark chocolate brownie mix
  • Melted butter, 1 stick
  • 1/2 cup quality bourbon whiskey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, 74% cocoa chips
  • Mixing bowls, utensils

Step 1

Bake 9 inch pie crust in a 350 degree oven, lightly for 7 minutes. Set aside.

Step 2

Mix together with a wooden spoon or hand mixer: brownie mix and melted butter. Blend eggs in a separate bowl. Add the eggs and bourbon whiskey to the brownie mix, blend until silky smooth.

Step 3

Pour mixture into the 9 inch pie crust. Smooth evenly with an off-set spatula. Sprinkle the chopped pecans and chocolate chips evenly over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes, test for doneness. Place on a cooling rack for 15 minutes before serving.
