How to Make Cheerios Treats

Cheerios treats are vey easy to make. If you are familiar with the classic Rice Krispie Treats, all you have to do is substitute Cheerios for the Rice Krispies.

You can make Cheerios Treats in a variety of flavors, since Cheerios now come in fruit flavored, chocolate flavored, banana nut, apples and cinnamon, honey nut, and several others.

Cheerios treats are a great after school snack and are quick and easy to make!

3 Tablespoons butter or margarine

8 cups Cheerios-any flavor

1 10 ounce bag marshmallows (about 40) or 4 cups mini marshmallows

1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.

2. Add Cheerios cereal. Stir until well coated.

3. Press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. You may want to use was paper to press the sticky mixture down. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares.

*Note-Before they cool, you can add sprinkles to the top for a more festive Cheerios treat!
