Fruit Flavored Bon Bons

Using a few simple ingredients make a truly wonderful homemade confection. My Grandkids love helping me make these fruit flavored bon bons, as well as eating the finished product. They keep checking the refrigerator to see if they are done yet.

Things You'll Need

cookie sheet
wax paper
teaspoon and cup measures

Ingredients for Fruit Flavored Bon Bons;
1-14 ounce can Sweetened Condensed milk(not evaporated milk)
2-7 ounce packages flaked coconut, about 5-1/3 cups
1-6 ounce package fruit flavored jello gelatin, any flavor
1 -cup ground blanched almonds
1 -teaspoon almond extract
food coloring, optional

Step 1...
In a large mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, coconut, 1/3 cup jello gelatin, almonds, extract and enough food coloring to tint mixture to the shade you want.

Roll into Balls

Step 2...
Chill 1 hour or until firm enough to form into balls. Using about 1/2 tablespoon of the mixture for each, shape into balls. Sprinkle the remaining jello gelatin onto wax paper; roll each ball in the jello gelatin to coat. Place bon bons on a wax paper lined cookie sheet and chill until firm. Should take about an hour.

Store covered at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Makes about 5 dozen Fruit flavored bon bons
