Golden Gate Grill Sandwich

I had this Golden Gate Grill sandwich years ago in San Fran when I traveled there for my first grand-daughter's birth. Awesome sandwich, they served it with radishes, carrot sticks and peach tea. Let's hope I can show you how it's done.

Things You'll Need:

large dish
large skillet

Ingredients:
3/4 -pounds of thinly slices turkey breast
1 -egg, beaten
1/4 -cup milk
8 -large slices of sourdough bread
grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
1 -tomato, sliced thin
1 -small, peeled, sliced avocado
2 -tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
4- slices of red onions, in rings
4- slices of Monterey Jack cheese
2- tablespoons butter, softened
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Step 1...
Combine egg and milk in a dish. Dip 1 side of each piece of sourdough bread in the egg mixture, then in the Parmesan or Romano cheese.

Step 2...
Arrange the turkey on the un-dipped side of the bread. Place tomato, avocado, cilantro, red onion and Monterey jack cheese on top of turkey. Top with the remaining bread slices, dipped side up.

Step 3...
In a large skillet over medium heat, combine butter, garlic and red pepper. Brown both sides of the sandwich until crisp.
Makes 4 -Golden Gate Grill Sandwiches.

That is quite the sandwich. French toast is an unusual start to any sandwich...
