Making your own Whipping Cream
Whipping cream is a delicious way to spice up all sorts of deserts including cake, fruit and ice cream. Making your own whipping cream, is not only healthier, but it also allows you to customize the whipping cream flavor however you like! You can also make your home made whipping cream more or less fattening depending what type of cream you use. You can also replace the sugar with a calorie free alternative. By replacing the sugar you can make this a low carb friendly recipe.
12oz of Heavy Cream/Medium Cream/Whipping Cream (Medium/Whipping cream if you want lower fat)
1 Tablespoon of sugar
Optional: 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Cold Mixing Bowl
Pour your cold cream, sugar and your vanilla (optional) into your cold bowl and get out your mixer.
Mix the cream and sugar blend on medium with your mixer until it starts to thicken. If you don't have a mixer you can use a whisk but prepare to get a forearm workout!
Once the mixture has thickened, turn the mixer to high and mix until a peak starts to form in your whip cream.
If you continue mixing you will wind up making butter! So stop at this point!
That is it! If you want to make different flavors of whipping cream, feel free to replace the vanilla extract with almond, rum or banana flavoring.
