How to Make Homemade Foot Scrubs That Leave Your Feet Feeling Incredible

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

So, you are going to the gala tonight, and you have just purchased this beautiful little black number, and can't wait to show off those legs. You spent a lot of money on some expensive hosiery, and you want to try it all on and make sure it works for you tonight. Then you hear this tear, and those dried cracked feet of yours just put a huge run in those expensive nylons. This is when you need a emergency homemade foot scrub!

There are two ways you can do this, both are a home made foot scrub, and works just as well as those expensive spa treatments. Both depend on how much time you have, and just what you may have in your house, especially if this is an emergency foot scrub!

Homemade Foot Scrub Recipe Number One

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of cornmeal

2 - 3 tablespoons of milk

1 drop of almond extract

Method:

Take your cornmeal and mix it with the milk in a small pot on the stove. Heat it up until it forms a warm paste, remove from the stove and stir in the drop of almond extract or almond essential oil (whatever you have available). Allow it to cool somewhat.

Your feet should feel softer, now you can just rub on a light lotion to keep them soft.

Next spread this pasty mixture off over your feet and let it stay on for about 10 minutes, then gently scrub the mixture with your hands all over those dry feet, then rinse off with warm water. So, you should be in the bathroom where you can get your feet into warm water afterwards. (note: This also works great on dry hands)

Homemade Foot Scrub Recipe Number Two

If you have a bit more time and want to pamper your feet, this feels great on tired feet as well not just dry feet.

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons of course salt

2 tablespoons of olive oil

8 fresh strawberries

Take the salt and put it in a mixing bow, and then add the oil and stir to mix together, then remove the tops off the strawberries (caps) and then slice them up. Add the strawberries to the mixture of salt and oil, and then using a potato masher, mash them all up. It will be a bit chunky but mostly blended.

Take this mixture and set yourself up in the bathroom, and rub this on your feet, especially the bottoms and the balls of your feet. You can use a scrub brush for feet if your feet are really dry. Once you have finished, you then rinse off your feet and use a mild lotion. You feet will feel incredible.

If you have lots of time, and want to really pamper yourself and your feet, you can use your foot bath first to really soften your feet, and then proceed with the homemade foot scrubs, along with a foot scrub brush. Your feet will feel silky smooth. You can get different style foot scrub brushes at Amazon such as the one pictured. Avivo Shower Sandal Footscrubber

If you really have problems with dry and cracked feet, and you have the time to work on them, you can use the above recipes, but another great process to try is to try your foot scrubs and also as an added procedure, is to coat your feet with a heavier skin lotion and then put on a pair of clean cotton socks and go to bed. By morning your feet will be really soft.
