By Edited Nov 13, 2013 1 2

Often times in the quest to make more money from being a freelance writer, you will eventually run into the wall that you can not make over a certain amount of money. The reason for this glass ceiling in the money that you can make is that there is only so many hours in the day that you can devote to the task of writing. Now when you first start on your journey into freelance writing, you may be able to find more hours to write to make more money. However there are only so many hours in the day, so you will need to be inventive if you want to make more money from freelance writing.
Step One
Fire any low paying freelance writing clients n if you want to make more money from your writing. Just about every freelace writer starts out by working for some of the lower paying clients that exist out there. They do this to get their foot in the door and to have what they feel as steady income. This is a time drain when it comes to making money. You can easily use the time that you would devote to the lower paying client to ones that pay more.
Step Two
Start writing for yourself if you want to make more money from freelance writing. When you depend on other people to pay you once for the articles that you write, you are just going to keep spinning your wheels for the same amount of money. Trully making money from your writing is something that you should look at in terms of the long term and not the short term return. When you write for yourself, you are building a stream of residual income. This means that one article that takes you an hour to write will continue to earn for years to come. This is the best way to make more money from the set number of hours you have in your day.
Step Three
Plan your days to devote 60% of your time to your clients and 40% to writing for yourself and building residual income. When you plan your days like this, you will start to make more money from the set amount of freelance writing that you do. As your residual income grows and blossoms, you will find yourself devoting more time each day to writing for yourself. This is the way to truly make the most money possible from your freelance writing.
