This old-fashioned pound cake is delicious by itself,
but when you add some fresh fruit, it's a great
summertime anytime treat.
Things You Will Need2-3/4 cups white sugar
3-cups all-purpose flour
1-teaspoon baking soda
Combine the above 3 ingredients and set aside.
1-cup sour cream
1/2-teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2-teaspoon orange extract
1/2-teaspoon lemon extract
8 to 9 cup bundt pan
large bowl and electric mixer
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour bundt pan.
Step 2In the large bowl, cream the butter with the mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add the sour cream and the extracts. Combine well. Now add the flour, sugar and baking soda mixture. Blend at low speed of the mixture until the batter is smooth.
Step 3Pour into the bundt pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for about 30 minutes. Invert on to serving plate and cool completely.
Tips & WarningsTip: Can use just one of the extracts, as long as it measures to the 1-1/2 teaspoon. ie, use just lemon, orange, vanilla, almond, etc. My favorite is vanilla, almond and lemon. By changing out the extracts each time you'll come up with a different flavor cake each time.
