Who Loves Pancakes?!

Pancakes are everyone's favorite, they are easy to make and taste delicious. It's just one of those things that puts a smile of everyone's face, what a great idea it is!

You can put almost anything and it will still taste wonderful. You can have them with sugar and lemon which is very traditional, with nutella, peanut butter, strawberries and the list can go on.
Everyone's make them using the main formula, and you can use a couple of different amounts and ingredients to change the texture to create something different like fluffy pancakes.
The recipe below serves 6-8 people on average.

Basic Recipe

1 or 2 eggs

1 cup plain flour (4oz/100g)

half a pint of milk (250ml) with 75ml water

pinch of salt (half Spoon)

50g/2oz butter

couple of drops of vanilla essence (optional)

Fluffy Pancake Recipe

1 egg

1 cup flour (4oz/100g)

3/4 cup milk (130ml)

2 tbsp white sugar

2 tbsp white vinegar

1 tsp baking power

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter

Couple of drops of vanilla essence (optional)

The Method

The method is the same for the basic recipe, please use according to you ingredients.

Put the milk and the vinegar together in a medium bowl and leave it aside for about 5 minutes (For fluffy Pancakes)

1. Add all the dry ingredients together: flour, baking power, baking soda, sugar and salt in a bowl.

2. Afterwards whisk the butter and egg together so it becomes soured milk, and then add the flour mixture until it becomes runny with no lumps.

3. Heat the pan on medium, and add a little butter or olive oil to cover the pan,
use a ladle to pour batter in to the pan for one portion. Then turn it over with a spatula once a few bubbles appear and then cook until its brown on both sides. 

You can flip the pancake using the pan once you get used to it

Pancake Toppings

Strawberries/Blueberries and cream

Banana and honey

Chopped apricots with single cream or yogurt

Apple, cinnamon & raisin-Melt butter and fry the apple slices until its golden. and then add cinnamon and raisin and stir

Condensed milk and sugar


Banana, Walnut & Cinnamon-cook sliced banana for 2-3 minutes, then add cinnamon and chopped walnuts

Maple Syrup

Lemon Juice and Sugar

Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam
