Making Pomegranate Juice at Home
Pomegranate juice is a great way to get your daily dose of antioxidants and since the juice can be pretty costly at the store there is a simple technique to make it from the comfort of your own home.
Cut your pomegranate open and place it in a large bowl of water
Next, remove the seeds from the pomegranate while it is under water. The seeds will sink and the peel and membrane will float at the surface.
Remove the peel and membrane from you bowl.
Remove the seeds from the water and place them into your blender. Grind the seeds up until they are very well broken up.
Place a mesh strainer into your bowl, and strain the seed/pulp mixture through the strainer. Press the pulp against the strainer to retrieve as much juice as possible.
If you want to add sugar or artificial sweetener you can. This will help make the juice less tart.
