Make a facial steam with tea bags when you are running short on time or fresh herbs. By using tea bags, you cut out the time it takes to steep your fresh herbs before using them as a facial steam. When you are out of your favorite fresh herbs it is fine to substitute with herbal teas.

Things You Will Need

  • Chamomile tea bag
  • Peppermint tea bag
  • 2 quart sauce pan
  • Hot pad
  • Towel
  • Witch hazel
  • Cotton Balls

Step 1 Fill a 2 quart sauce pan with water and place it on the stove. Turn the stove on high.
Step 2 Place one chamomile and one peppermint tea bag in the water as the tiny bubbles begin to form in the bottom of the pot. Allow the water to come to a boil.
Step 3 Turn the stove down to simmer and allow water to simmer for five minutes. Clean your face while you wait for the tea bags to finish seeping for your facial.
Step 4 Remove the water from the stove and place on a hot pad on a sturdy level counter or table.
Step 5 Fasten hair back away from your face. Drape a towel over your head and the pan of water forming a tent for your facial.
Step 6 Hold your head eight to ten inches away from the hot water for your facial so you don't scald your skin. Steam burns can be incredibly painful.
Step 7

Remove the towel after eight to ten minutes and pat your face dry, do not rub.

Step 8

Use an astringent such as witch hazel to close pores and leave you with a refreshed feeling after your herbal facial skin care routine.
