I love frozen and iced coffee, and if you are anything like me, you have probably developed a small addiction for them. They are so expensive though!! You can easily spend 4 or 5 dollars per drink on these tasty treats with a kick. So, I have come up with a way to make them at home for so much less money. It's actually a lot easier than I thought, and they taste just like the coffee shop version. I like mine pretty sweet, so just adjust the recipe to your liking. You will be saving yourself a lot of money each month if you switch to the home made version.
Things You'll Need:
*Liquid creamer in the flavor you like
*Cup and straw
Start by brewing your favorite coffee. I like to make mine a little stronger than I normally would for this recipe because it gets watered down with the ice. Make 2 cups worth of coffee for one drink.
In your blender, add 2 cups of ice and 2-3 tablespoons of your favorite flavored creamer. I like mine pretty sweet, but this can all be adjusted to your own personal taste. There are also sugar free and fat free coffee creamers available, so you can use those as well to keep the sugar, fat, and calorie content lower.
Pour coffee over the ice. If you have the time, you can cool the coffee down first or make it ahead of time, but fresh brewed, hot coffee works just fine. It just melts the ice faster.
Blend to the consistency that you like. Then pour it into your cup and top with whipped cream. You can also make it extra fancy by adding sprinkled cocoa powder or grated chocolate to the top if you feel like it.
Tips & Warnings
If you have extra left over in your blender that doesn't fit in your cup, just put that in the freezer, and blend again later if you want another drink.
